About
Masjid Ibrahim
Masjid Ibrahim is the largest mosque construction project in Canada. It is located in the Canadian city of Brampton, Ontario. It borders the Toronto International Airport and is home to a growing and diverse Muslim community.
It’s a community project under the umbrella of Peel Islamic Cultural Centre, which is a charitable organisation serving the Muslim community in Brampton since 2008. We are dedicated to the welfare, education, and spiritual well being for the surrounding Muslim community.

Construction Phases
Phase 1 - Completed
Land Purchase
In late 2008, soon after the inception of the Masjid Ibrahim project a 2.4 acre land was identified as preferred location for Masjid Ibrahim. The site was in the heart of south west Brampton at the intersection of Mavis road and Clementine drive, very close to Taha Musalla.
Some key factors were kept in mind during the land selection phase such as:
- Easy access by public transport
- Mosque accessibility aspect
- Adequate space for construction for future expansion
- Parking space, meeting the government’s requirements
- Proper zoning as per City of Brampton requirements.
Phase 2- Completed
Architectural Drawing & City Approval
In Phase 2 of the Masjid Ibrahim project, several crucial tasks were accomplished to ensure the smooth progress of the construction process.
Firstly, the initiation of the construction fund was done to through the generous support of the community in the form of donations and Qarz-e Hasana. The collaborative effort allowed the community to have a direct impact on the project’s success and ensured that the construction fund was adequately resourced.
Additionally, the completion of architectural drawings was a critical task that was achieved in Phase 2. This involved the collaboration between architects and engineers to develop a detailed and accurate plan for the construction project. The drawings encompassed all aspects of the construction, including structural design, electrical systems, plumbing, and interior design.
Another important task that was completed in Phase 2 was obtaining approval from the City of Brampton for the architectural drawings. This process involved submitting our drawings to the City and obtaining the required permits to begin construction.
Phase 3 - Completed
Two-Story Basement Construction
The commencement of Phase 3 of the Masjid Ibrahim project was marked by a celebratory ground-breaking event held in December 2019. Following this event, work immediately started at the construction site.
The initial construction activities involved the excavation of the site and the laying of the foundation. During this phase, we also completed two basement stories below ground. Alhamdulillaah, the completion of the basement levels was a significant achievement that laid the groundwork for the project’s further development.
Phase 4 - Completed
Top Three-Story Construction
Phase 4 of the project represents a critical phase that aims to build the steel framework for the top three stories of the Masjid. These stories will serve as the primary spaces for the men’s and women’s prayer areas as well as the Islamic school. This phase of the project is essential to the building’s completion and will significantly impact the community’s ability to access these important facilities.
By donating to this project, you will not only be contributing to the construction of a Masjid but also supporting the education and growth of the community. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in enabling us to complete this project, inshaAllaah.
Phase 5 - Completed
Walls, Windows & Doors
Phase 5 has completed with the installation of walls, windows, and doors. This stage was instrumental in transforming the existing framework into a fully enclosed structure, creating a protected environment for worship, education, and community gatherings.
Phase 6 - In Progress
Internal Finishing &
Dome Installation
Phase 6 of the Masjid Ibrahim Construction Project focuses on two major transformative elements: the construction of the dome, which will enhance the masjid’s architectural beauty and improve the acoustics and structure of the prayer halls below; and the installation of advanced heating and electrical systems across the entire 83,000 sqft facility to ensure year-round comfort for the musallis.
These critical upgrades will finalize the core functionality and comfort in our Masjid. Your contribution will help establish a space where thousands will find spiritual solace, pursue knowledge, and strengthen community bonds for generations to come, inshaAllah.
